OUR STORY

Who We Are

FORTY YEARS OF
OPEN ROAD

Chattanooga IMRG started in 1985 with seven riders and a simple idea: get out and ride. No politics, no hierarchy, no drama — just good people on good roads.

Over four decades, we've grown into one of the most respected riding clubs in the Southeast. Our members range from weekend warriors to daily commuters, from brand-new riders to veterans with hundreds of thousands of miles under their belts.

What hasn't changed is the spirit. Every ride, every event, every cold beer at the end of a long day in the saddle — it all comes back to the same thing it always has: brotherhood and the open road.

What We Stand For

THE CODE WE RIDE BY

Brotherhood

The bond between riders is forged on the road, not in a meeting room. We look out for each other — on the bike and off it.

Respect

For the road, for other riders, for the communities we pass through. Forty years of riding has taught us that respect is earned mile by mile.

No Pretense

We don't care what you ride or what you wear. If you love the open road and you treat people right, you belong here.

Give Back

The Chattanooga community has given us decades of great roads and good people. We pay that back every chance we get.

The Long Road

CLUB HISTORY

1985

Founded

Seven riders from Chattanooga formed the club after a chance meeting at a gas station on Highway 27. No bylaws, no dues — just a handshake and a shared love of the road.

1991

First Dragon Run

The club made its first organized trip to Deals Gap. What started as a dare became an annual tradition that continues to this day.

1998

Charity Roots

Launched the annual Toy Run, delivering gifts to children at Erlanger Hospital. Over the years, the run has collected thousands of toys for families in need.

2005

20 Years Strong

Membership hit 60 active riders. The club celebrated two decades with a three-day ride through the Blue Ridge Parkway — the longest group ride in club history.

2015

Natchez Trace Tradition

Added the Natchez Trace overnight ride to the annual calendar. 444 miles of history, no stoplights, no commercial traffic — pure riding.

2025

40 Years on the Road

Four decades. Hundreds of members past and present. Thousands of miles logged together. The road keeps calling, and we keep answering.
